One of the most common internal parasites is the tapeworms, these types of worms infect your pet by entering through the mouth of your pet when they bite and eat a flea that is infected with tapeworm. The best way to treat an infected pet is to use tapeworm medicines and also treat for fleas as these two parasites are usually around each other. The treatment you should use must be able to kill the adult parasites and one must also treat for fleas and control flea infestations as soon as possible.
Another common parasite that is one of the deadliest to your pets is called the heartworm, these are parasites that target the heart and circulatory system, and they are often transmitted from pet to pet via mosquitoes. This parasite will start to block the host’s circulatory system and eventually kill the host. There are treatments available for this parasite however it is very expensive and has some dramatic side effects; the best cause of action is a preventative one with a medicine that kills the parasite before it matures and prevent the infection altogether. Some good products are Heartgard and Interceptor spectrum to use as a preventative measure against the parasite heartworm.
